Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed remains of a temple dedicated to the god Zeus-Kasios.
The site is located in Tell Al-Farma in North Sinai. The temple was used during the Greco-Roman and Byzantine Periods, with inscriptions indicating that the Roman Emperor Hadrian might have renovated the temple. The archaeologists found remains of granite pillars which formed part of the temple entrance.
The temple is dedicated to the worship of Zeus-Kasios, a hybrid deity between the Greek god Zeus and the god Kasios. Mount Kasios is located on the border between Turkey and Syria and was the location of the battle between Zeus and Typhon the monster.
