A new touristic attraction is in the works of being open to the public in Egypt!
The palace of Prince Hussein Kamel, built in 1908 in the neighborhood of Heliopolis by a famous French architect Alexandre Marcel, is expected to be a cultural center that will elevate the cultural value and experience of the Heliopolis neighborhood and Cairo at large. The palace is situated directly opposite to the Baron Palace, which has been recently opened to the public.
Prince Hussein Kamel resided in the palace before becoming Sultan of Egypt in 1914. It was then given to his wife, Sultana Melek, whom he married in 1886. Sultana Melek continued to live in the palace after her husband’s death and the palace became commonly known as Sultana Melek Palace.
