The Egyptian-German archaeological mission working at the Temple of Esna in Luxor Governorate has uncovered more colorful ceiling scenes.
The team has been working on removing soot and cleaning the temple ceilings as part of the Temple of Esna restoration project that started in 2018.
The newly revealed scenes include depictions of the goddess Nut, goddess of the sky, above the deities Orion, Sothis, and Anukis, each having their own boat, and a notable depiction of the god Khnum-Re with four ram heads.
The Temple of Esna was dedicated to the worship of the ram-headed god Khnum and dates to the Greco-Roman Period.
